Blackboard will be down starting 8 AM on Wednesday August 15th until 10 PM on Friday August 17th.
Issues related with the mailing list server are being looked into. Expect the mailing list server to be unavailable during this time.
The Events calendar is back on-line after an upgrade. Because of the number of upgrades necessary to get to the current version (6 full upgrades and 2 minor updates), some events will appear multiple times (when an event was on multiple calendars, it will appear once per calendar), and many have lost special colors, etc.
Tuesday, August 7th at 5:00pm, the public events calendar at http://events.potsdam.edu/ will be going offline for an upgrade. The upgrade window is scheduled for 2 hours.
On Wednesday, July 18 @ 9:00am, we will be changing our Internet/Internet2 border policy to default deny. This fundamental paradigm shift will block connection requests originating from the Internet/Internet2, unless theyre destined for excluded systems. This will go largely unnoticed by the vast majority of the campus computing population. On Wednesday and Thursday, all requests for exceptions will need to go through Matthew Keller (kellermg@potsdam.edu). After Thursday, members of ISTF in the Helpdesk and HNS groups will have access to make exceptions for specific cases.
On Monday, Jul 16th, at 9:00pm, the campus webserver will be unavailable during a migration to new hardware. This will impact the sites residing on: www, www2, www3, secure, events. During the majority of the migration, visitors to these sites will be redirected to a maintenance page encouraging them to try back later. There will be periods where this will not be possible. This maintenance period has a 2 hour window.
On Monday 7/9/2007 at 6:00am our I2SP will be doing maintenance that may impact our Internet2 connectivity intermittently for about 30 minutes.
