Status Announcements

The SUNYNet VPN Router was not properly [re]establishing VPN tunnels to some sites. A reboot has resolved it. ITEC, SUNYConnect, etc. appear to be all clear.

Despite testing the SUNYNet VPN after the migration last night, it appears that it is not fully working, creating problems accessing some SUNYNet sites. Working on it.

Helios services will be briefly inaccessible starting at 11PM this evening for routine maintenance.

Around 5:00pm we will begin a planned migration between circuit providers for our Internet1 service. This may result in outages of up to 20 minutes for general Internet1 traffics, and up to 40 minutes for SUNYnet traffics.

I have been informed by our ISP that there are currently nationwide Internet routing problems, that have contributed to our recent spate of Internet outages. More are likely to follow.

The campus mailing list server will be unavailable between 10pm and midnight on Wednesday the 19th due to upgrades.

W@SP, the wireless network, suffered a prolonged outage from around 9:00pm last night until a few minutes ago.

The mail server is again operational. All mail queued for delivery during the outage is being delivered. Users are encouraged to restart their e-mail program if they left it on.

We are experiencing problems with e-mail, and it is currently unavailable. We will update as we know more.

Beginning at 5:00pm, networking (wired and wireless) in Stowell Hall will be unavailable twice, for up to 2 minute each time, as necessary upgrades are performed on network components.
