A problem with the processing of mail logins caused sporadic problems for users accessing mail over the last hour.
The webproxy server will undergo a one-hour maintenance window this evening at 11PM.
BearPAWS & Banner we down this past weekend (2/23-2/24) due to problems with the daily backup. The problem has been addresses and the database was started by 8:15am Monday morning 2/25.
Mail stability is much improved, and all mail systems have been performing at satisfactory levels for over a week. No appreciable mail backlogs or delays have occurred for at least ten days. Technicians still closely monitor the system, but at this time, all major problems appear to be rectified. We still ask that users log out of their email account at the end of the work day. This will minimize any potential email client issues if server maintenance is done overnight. We will do our best to keep the CTS network blog updated with the latest information, at http://blogs.potsdam.edu/network. CTS wishes to thank the campus community for its patience.
Mail was flushed through hours ago. Mailguard logins and performance may be a bit slow, but mail is proceeding without additional delay.
Mail incoming from the Internet is being temporarily queued for later delivery. The Mailguard database is undergoing diagnostics.
Users experiencing issues after the server maintenance performed this morning should close and re-open their clients to ensure that their client has synchronized with the server.
The maintenance window is now complete. All mail that was queued during the window is now being delivered.
The mail server will be undergoing maintenance this evening starting at 10PM. It will be available by 7AM tomorrow morning.
The mail server will be undergoing a one hour scheduled maintenance window this evening at 5PM.
