A software anomaly caused atypically high load on the campus webserver which resulted in the unavailability of www/www2/www3/blogs and any other web service hosted on the campus webserver. At this time, the anomaly has been resolved and services should be functioning as usual.
Between 9:00PM and 11:59PM this evening, the campus data network will experience an outage that may last upwards of 75 minutes, with residual network anomalies lasting up to two hours.
Banner/BearPAWS/HR Time Accounting are now available.
The Database Server that services Banner/BearPAWS/HR Time Accounting shutdown unexpectedly. Services should be restored shortly.
Various campus services will undergo a series of brief rolling outages today as maintenance and security updates are applied to underlying systems.
The campus mailing list server (lists.potsdam.edu) will once again be unavailable from 22:00-00:00 this evening to facilitate continuing maintenance.
Tonight from 22:00 to 00:00 the campus mailing list server (lists.potsdam.edu) will be unavailable to facilitate system maintenance.
A series of conditions caused large-scale instability in the campus webserver resulting in approximately 30 minutes of “unavailability” of www,www2,www3,blogs, and other web services. At this time, all systems have returned to normal operating conditions and all services should be once again available.
Maintenance on the campus administrative network is complete.
The campus administrative network (offices, printers) will undergo maintenance tomorrow morning (9/29) at 6:30AM, window to last approximately 45 minutes. Brief network service interruptions can be expected during the window. Labs and wireless service will not be affected.
